Next Legacy Discovery Weekend 2022
Nov. 18 - 20 (Save the dates!)
A big acknowledgement to the men that came down to the Head Smashed n Buffalo Jump on June 18th. The energy that the men brought to this event made it what it was. The men truly understood what kind of Legacy has been handed down to them from 25 years ago when the founders of Head Smashed In went to HSIBJ for the first time.
HSI must also acknowledge the special efforts of some of the men who helped put this event together:
Morris - for organizing and making sure the men were fed
Vanderlugt - for the activity
Rogers - for the Technology
Thibodeau - for leading the spiritual portion of the Overdayer
Pine Car Derby Acknowledgements!
The men who came and brought their families to our Pine Car Derby on the 23rd are grateful to the men who spent days or even weeks putting it all together just so we can see the excitement and sense of fun for not only themselves but especially for the young ones. We must extent BIG kudos to each and every man who gave up their time and energy for this event: Morris, Langille, Thibodeau, Woolley, Rogers, Dwyer, and Fretz for capturing the afternoon on his camera so all of you can see how much fun it truly was for all who attended and a BIG acknowledgement to the Weather Beings that made the day ideal for such an event. Thank you all!

Asking for Help…
Is this learning how to delegate, or Leadership?
We are Generally poor at asking for help. Can we be better? Recently an HSI Team reviewed the idea of Help and was able to better understand what the implications of asking for Help, receiving Help and being of actual service to others is all about.
Asking for help is all about leadership... right?
Asking for help focuses a man to his priorities,
Focuses him on locating his current resources (as he sees them)
Focuses his accurate scope and description of the objective for clarity
It suppresses the prideful instinct to be perfect and “enough”
It enhances the opportunity to become more than before
Requires a Man to be Supportable
How would a man who could delegate do this?
Focuses on coordination, communication, leadership and compromise (empathy)
Acknowledges gaps in efficiency and expertise are smaller than originally thought
Humbles without degrading
Allows a man to realistically imagine goals that are far greater than his own capacity. Dream Big
Enhances purpose focused connections
Test a man’s Supportability
Being of “service” to others
Recognition of the job at hand required. If you have to interrogate to engage you have failed to be of service
Offer help by positive statement not interrogative question
Requires a Sympathetic context to be effective.
Requires leadership to know and acknowledge boundaries
Should not be a prideful ego driven motive
Cannot happen without a man being Supportable.
The discussion was much more in depth but worth having… How do you and your Team Rate on HELP.
